ISNAD
Helping university students in Gaza to resume their education.
No young person should be denied an education.
ISNAD is a national initiative launched by Taawon in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and non-profit universities in Gaza, to protect students’ right to education and ensure the continuity of universities in fulfilling their academic mission, despite the systematic destruction inflicted on Gaza’s higher education sector, including its infrastructure and academic staff.
The ISNAD Initiative seeks to enhance students’ access to higher education and enable them to resume their studies by covering university tuition fees; contributing to the release of withheld graduation certificates for graduates with accumulated debts; and supporting the educational environment, both in-person and through distance learning.

The reality of higher education in Gaza.

Previously, Gaza had a higher education enrolment rate of 45%. Now, 88,000 have lost access to their universities and colleges.
But Gaza's institutions and students refuse to give up.
How ISNAD supports:
Enhancing the ability of universities in Gaza to endure and survive.
Supporting academics, reducing brain drain, and providing the minimum requirements for perseverance.
Providing scholarships for students to resume their university education through remote learning platforms.
By prioritising final year students in practical fields such as medicine, ISNAD facilitates their entry into the labour force so that they can give back their skills to their communities.

"Even while being displaced and living in constant uncertainty, I refused to give up on my nursing studies. Our people need nurses now more than ever, and that belief kept me going through the hardest days. I studied under incredibly difficult conditions, determined to be part of the health response. With ISNAD’s support, I was able to continue — and today, I’m just one semester away from graduating."
